Leftover Halloween Candy Recipe: Candy Corn Sparkler

Raise your hand if you never expected to find a candy corn recipe on my site. 🙋‍♀️

This content originally appeared in the 2022 issue of Spooky Little Halloween—The Magazine.

I’m right there with you. When it comes to a leftover Halloween candy recipe, candy corn isn’t my first choice to eat, but I have to admit…I was surprised by how much I liked candy corn-infused vodka! It loses quite a bit of the overpowering sweetness and becomes more tolerable to my palate.

Candy corn is also the next sweet star up in this leftover Halloween candy recipe series! This recipe is ridiculously easy to throw together and turns this sweet Halloween icon into a quick festive drink.

How to Make Candy Corn Vodka

To make the infused vodka, combine 1 1/2 cups of your favorite plain vodka and 1/2 cup of candy corn in a mason jar. Allow to steep at room temperature for at least six hours. Shake occasionally. Once the candy corn is fully dissolved, your vodka is ready.

How to Make a Candy Corn Sparkler

To make the sparkler, pour 1.5-2 ounces of candy corn vodka over ice. Add club soda and stir to combine.

Feeling iffy about candy corn in drink form? It may take a little longer for the candies to dissolve, but you could also try this with Jolly Ranchers, Skittles, or Sour Patch Kids. (I recommend selecting one color/flavor at a time, though.)

Make it a mocktail: instead of making candy corn vodka, make candy corn simple syrup using a 1:1 ratio of candy corn and water. Over medium heat, combine candy corn and water. Bring to a boil, stir until candy corn is dissolved, then allow to cool completely. Store in the fridge for up to two weeks.

To make the mocktail, combine 1/2 ounce of simple syrup and 4 ounces of club soda. (Add more simple syrup to taste.)

What other candies would you like to see recipes for?

I still have to share my personal favorite from this series using Witch’s Brew Kit-Kat bars.
